Berlin is not only the capital but also the lively cultural center of Germany. The international atmosphere is comparable to New York or London. Over the last years people from all over the world came to live and work in Berlin: politicians, artists, businessmen, film-makers and writers.
Every year a great number of festivals and parades - such as ‘Carneval of Cultures’ - are filling the streets of Berlin. People enjoy the multi-nationality of Berlin’s inhabitants. Each district is different - in Kreuzberg you can find a lovely Turkish market with delicious food, in Prenzlauer Berg a lot of small bars and at Potsdamer Platz the International Film Festival takes place every year. In numerous museums and exhibitions you can discover the diverse world of arts or learn about the history of Germany. By making a tour through the city you can explore the various projects of contemporary architecture which have been built within the recent years. The surroundings offer various leisure possibilities such as canoeing on the lakes of Mecklenburg or visiting the beautiful castles of Potsdam. Our school in Berlin is situated directly in Berlin-Mitte, not far away from the striving, famous district "Hackescher Markt". The nearest Metro station is "Zinnowitzer Straße" and the nearest suburban train station is "Nordbahnhof". The public transport connection of the school is simply perfect! The school itself is located in a quitet street in a nice building with a very big terrace.

Communication is one of the main concerns. The small groups 4/5 people give you the opportunity to speak frequently during a lesson - right from the very first lesson.
Courses are offered at 8 levels; with study periods ranging from the four-weeks intensive course to the 4 months course. Interesting are also the special offers for intensive courses in one to one lessons.
You meet high qualified teachers and experience individual support in a joyful atmosphere of a small school located in a renovated old building in the heart of “Schwabing”.
On one hand you can enjoy in this famous part of Munich the vivid street life in the summer around the school with coffeebars, restaurants, shops and the typical Munich beergardens and also in the winter the cultural environment with universities, museums and galleries.
On the other hand there is the beautiful Bavarian countryside with lakes and mountains just 30 minutes away by train.
Though it is a small school with a private atmosphere the participants of the courses
can take part at a wide offer of leisure activities offered in networking with another Munich language school.

The F+U language school is situated by Bismarckplatz, in the middle of the vibrant centre of the university city and just a few metres from the Neckar. The school building offers a fantastic view over the Old Town, castle and into the Neckar valley.
Today, the F+U Academy of Languages is one of the largest language schools in Germany. Every year, over 4,000 students participate in our language courses in Heidelberg.
With 30 multimedia-equipped classrooms (up to 60 in summer), 3 Internet rooms with 50 computers, wireless connection, a small library and, without doubt, thanks to its central location in Heidelberg, the Academy of Languages fulfils all the criteria for transforming language lessons into a special experience. Due to its international character, the school is a unique venue for encountering other cultures.
In its specialist area of German as a Foreign Language, F+U Academy of Languages is one of the world leaders in the provision of German courses and is attended annually by participants from over 70 countries.
As a test centre for TestDaF and TOEFL, the Academy of Languages stands for a particular quality in the teaching of languages.
The F+U Academy of Languages carries out the “Eurodyssée” and “Leonardo da Vinci” internship programmes. Heidelberg, the capital of the Kurpfalz, lies in the lovely Neckar valley, south of the Odenwald, and is distinguished by its particularly mild climate. Over the years, Heidelberg’s beauty has drawn a number of poets, painters and scientists.
The city’s landmark lies approximately 70 metres above the Neckar on the slope of its very own mountain, Königstuhl. The ruins of the elector’s castle belong to one of the most impressive sights to behold on any tour of Germany.
A walk round the Old Town will reveal particularly ornamental facades and portals. The focus of the Old Town is the market place, with the church of the Holy Ghost and the grand renaissance house “Zum Ritter”. Down from the church of the Holy Ghost there are many old alleys with pubs and restaurants. Spanning the Neckar, the Old Bridge is one of the most beautiful in Germany.
The name Heidelberg also stands for a modern science and business location of international renown. This concentration of sciences offers unequalled opportunities and is the basis for a dynamic science-orientated economy, which elevates Heidelberg, despite its modest population of 145.000, to being one of Germany’s highest flying economic centres. The F+U language school is situated by Bismarckplatz, in the middle of the vibrant centre of the university city and just a few metres from the Neckar. The school building offers a fantastic view over the Old Town, castle and into the Neckar valley.

The Humboldt-Institut, a non-profit organization first established in 1977, is one of Germany's finest language institutes. Our work is built on the philosophy that the quickest way to learn a foreign language is to spend time in the country where that language is spoken. Whichever efforts you have made to study in your own country, there is no better way to really master the German language than to be immersed in German culture and to communicate freely in German with Germans. This is the focus at our institute. You can accelerate the learning process tremendously if you attend a school which specializes in teaching German as a foreign language, and whose teachers are specially trained in modern teaching methods.

In medieval times, as trade increased, the traveller on his way from Scandinavia to Southern Europe had to cross the oldest German Rhine bridge in Constance, and so the city gained its wealth and cultural prosperity. Many buildings of that time still exist and are, alongside those from Renaissance and the Baroque, beautifully preserved in the old part of the town. Due to the direct proximity to Constance's Swiss counterpart Kreuzlingen, the town was spared from destruction in World War II. The university, founded in 1966, forms a vibrant contrast to the historical city.
Within walking distance from the university and only five minutes from the lake, the Humboldt-Institut is running year-round courses in its own, completely renovated school.

Flights: We will arrange airport pick-up from Cologne/Bonn airport free of charge. For a small fee we can arrange airport pick-up from Frankfurt.
What happens on the first day of school: Students take a placement test to identify their actual German language level. Afterwards our staff will take a tour through Bonn to show some sightseeing spots, shopping areas, restaurants and the school's surrounding. Meanwhile the placement test is being evaluated and the next day students can join their class and take lessons.
Activities: Our staff will help you to arrange any kind of activities in Bonn. We also have special group activities which you are welcome to join, e.g. city tours, cinema, dinners, party, theatre, sports, etc.
We can also help you arranging journeys to other European countries and find the cheapest prices for you.
How to get to the school the first day: The first day our staff will visit you at your living place and go to school together with you showing you the shortest or most convenient way.
Visa information: The German visa regulations seem pretty strict and tough to most interntational students. You will need to provide them with all required documents otherwise the application might fail right away. But it is not impossible to apply successfully for the German visa.
The application for a German long-term visa will cost 60 EUR. For some countries the visa application might take several months. Therefore we suggest applying at least 3 months prior to your travel to Germany. This will also give you the chance to hand in missing information.
If you want to study in Germany after your language course you need to apply for a "student applicant visa" for which the embassy requires the following information:
- a valid passport and passport photos
- a proof of financial funds (7716 EUR on an existing German bank account)
- a duly filled out visa application form
- a letter of acceptance from a German language school
- valid insurance for Germany
- a conditional admission from a German university
We will make sure you will have all required documents and screen them before you apply for the visa. What is included?: We will give you full visa-support and help the student with the opening of a German Bank account.
Further included in the prices is the use of the school library and free tea all day long in our student lounge where you can also use free WIFI. With our student card you will be able to get special deals all around Bonn, e.g. Restaurant deals, free access to clubs, etc.
Our staff will support you during your stay at our school and during your university studies afterwards.
